Tue, Jul 9th 2019 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This is the first time we had tried this - it was purely for the older generation to give them a sociable get together and although the turn out was low, the enthusiasm was high!

KNIGHTON ROTARY CLUB HOLDS A TEA DANCE FOR THE COMMUNITY

On Tuesday afternoon July 9th 2019 the Knighton and District Rotary Club held the first of their monthly tea dances, with afternoon tea and dancing, at the St Edward Church Hall. The dance instructors Frank and Pauline Davis provided the music and tuition, while Rotary member Angie Ellis provided the delicious sandwiches and bite sized cakes. As Pauline said “St Edwards Church Hall is an excellent venue for this informal event and, with the couples here today enjoying the dancing, we look forward to see more people next month.” Rotary President Christine Price added “We wanted to offer something for the older residents of the community and an informal tea dance seemed a good idea. Everyone who came enjoyed the dancing and the afternoon tea! We will be holding the next one on Tuesday August 6th starting at 2pm. Entry will be free, although a donation towards our charitable efforts in the community will be much appreciated.” Christine also added “You can read more about what we do on our website or facebook page as Knighton Rotary Club. Hope to see you all next month!”
