We hold a Polio Awareness stall at the Knighton Community Market

Sat, Oct 26th 2019 at 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

As World Polio Day is on October 24th, we had ( as last year ) a stall to explain Rotary's involvement in the eradication of polio and how everyone can help...we are nearly there!

Although it was quiet on this Saturday, at the Knighton Farmer's Market, we were able to share the progress that Rotary ( with the support of the WHO and the Gates Foundation ) has made in the eradication of polio across the world.

We also showed off a Rotary Shelterbox to a young man from Nottingham whose grandfather lives in Knighton. He will now be doing a project at school on this excellent way to support those in disaster-stricken areas worldwide. It was good to show what Rotary, and our Rotary Club, is doing both locally and internationally.
