We undertook car parking for the VSCC Hill Climb

Sun, Oct 13th 2019 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

We supported the event held by the Vintage Sports Car Club by helping with car parking and hope to encourage donations for our charitable efforts in the community.

This event was held on a VERY wet Sunday at Cwm Whitton near Knighton. It was the anniversary of 75 years of the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC ) and we parked over 300 cars for their Hill Climb event. The mud in the car park was 6 inches deep in places and very daunting but, happily, everyone managed to successfully traverse the mud, though often sideways! With nothing to hit (!) the 4x4 drivers showed off and I suspect the BMW drivers secretly had some fun on the sludgy skidpan before being safely parked by Rotarians. Some visitors decided not to enter the farm and parked on the road - but most did put a donation in the bucket for our Wales and Midland Air Ambulance collection. Many thanks to our 14 Rotary members who volunteered on the day and to those who donated generously allowing us to raise over £600 for charity.
