Rotary Young Chef Competition

Ten aspiring Masterchefs were encouraged to display their skills on Saturday 23rd November at the Neale Wade Academy by participating in the local heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition, organised by the Youth and Vocational Committee of the Rotary Club of March under committee chairman, Rotarian John Orbell, supervised by Miss J Sinclair, head catering teacher. The judges were Harry Baird, Jon Martin and Andrew Pugh. Each contestant had to prepare a three course meal for two within a limited budget, with the emphasis on healthy eating and a wide range of appetising dishes. These were prepared for display and sampling. The winner, who will now advance to the District finals in Bury St Edmunds on 1st February 2020 was Keeley Lusher-Glenisterand the runner-up was Abigail O’Mahony.  The Rotary Club of March would like to thank all who supported the event, including all those at Neale Wade who facilitated the event and especially Miss Sinclair and the participants, their families and the three judges.
