The judges had comments about the winners

Senior Winner Michael Stephens

They found this work very empathetic. The first paragraph set the scene . Even the judges were moved by it.

Intermediate Winner Yak Than

This was an atmospheric poem about what it was like to be in the trenches during the war. It had a good rhythm and strong ending.

Junior Winner Amelie Wellby

She had a good structure. A good beginning  to her story and she had a feel for what it is like to be connected to a creature in nature. She sustained the theme throughout.
