Tommy is looking for a new home

Can you help us find a new home for our Tommy

Our club would greatly value ideas from Diss residents for suitable locations where Tommy can be displayed on permanent loan and viewed by residents and visitors to the town.

Purchased by Diss Waveney Rotary Club for the town, Tommy is a 6ft aluminium silhouette structure standing on a steel baseplate.

Tommy took pride of place in our WW1 100th Anniversary Concert, held in St Mary’s Church, Diss in November 2018, to mark the end the Great War.   Proceeds from the concert were distributed to the Combat Stress Charity and other charities supported by Rotary.

Tommy is a striking visual tribute to the sacrifices of so many who lost their lives in battle. This year has marked the 75th anniversary of VE Day, 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and in August it will be the 75th anniversary of VJ Day.

Please contact Diss Waveney Rotary club Secretary, Rodney Howell on email rod@g-howell.keme.co.uk with your suggestions.
