Holderness Holding on.

Rotary Club of Holderness members are pleased to donate £500 to the Salvation Army in Hull fund to help pay for food vouchers instead of the accustomed help to pack hundreds of Christmas food parcels, for local families in need.

Links were also made between the club and Chiltern Primary School in Hull, when they paid for a tree to be planted in the school grounds to be tended by the children.  The tree is growing well, will provide shade and adds greenery to the urban area.  The latest collaboration is to give £600 so that each child can have a specially selected book for Christmas.  Rotary stickers will be put on the books, so that there is a reminder where the gift came from.

Usual sources of income for the club have almost dried up – but the Wishing Well at a popular local garden centre continues to provide with some funds.

Momentum will be maintained for next Santa Run, by a social media Santa competition, to keep Rotary in the spotlight and hold on to supporters’ interest.
