Christmas Hampers for Those in Need at Christmas

Wed, Dec 2nd 2020 at 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The community response has been overwhelming. THANK YOU EVERYONE

Rotary Christmas Hampers were packed and all 87 have been delivered to those in need.

The supporters and friends of Rotary, Kim Davies; Kay Jarrosz and Tara Boyle, arranged drop off points at Yellow Belly Pizza, Brigg; E-Cig World, Brigg; Barnetby Post Office, to gather gifts of food for the Rotary Christmas Hampers and then collected donations together in their homes ready for packing into boxes.

There was a wonderful response to their plea for support which shows the fantastic generosity of the local community. The pictures tell their own story. What amazing work these ladies do for those in need at Christmas in Brigg and area. Brilliant work.

This year the Rotary Christmas Hampers were boosted by a mystery Tesco shopper who filled a trolley with £140 of food and left it for collection towards the hamper appeal.

Rotary would like to say a massive THANK YOU for your generosity and you have the satisfaction of knowing that it has all been packed and delivered.

Then it was packing time:

Year 8 Vale Academy students did a fantastic job with Rotarians Robert Horner and Chris Darlington as guides.

Pictures show the wonderful response to our plea for support as the filled boxes pile high.

Additional purchases were made possible by sponsorship from, Future Biogas/Merlin Renewables; Singleton Birch; Bennetts Potatoes; Thomas Bell Country Store; Newton Fallowell; DDM Agriculture; Old Courts Veterinary Centre; Eddisons CJM; Bennetts Timber; Whitelock Financial Planning; Barnards Butchers, Brigg; NISA Dents, Brigg; Aldi Store, Brigg; Tesco Store, Brigg; Brigg Mini Market (Glebe Road); Welton Aggregates, Spilsby.

THANK YOU EVERYONE on behalf of all those who can enjoy a less stressful festive season through your response
