Community raise funds for the installation of a public access defibrillator at The Cross Keys

COMMUNITY RAISES FUNDS FOR VILLAGE DEFIBRILLATOR

Another community public access defibrillator was installed today in Washington. Kimberley Cheetham is manager of The Cross Keys in Washington Village and she is always looking at ways in which she can support the local community. During a discussion with staff about what they could raise funds for it was suggested that a public access defibrillator would be an excellent cause. Kimberley set up an online fundraiser with ‘GoFundMe’ and had also collected donations during a ‘Santa’s Workshop’ event in December.

Kimberley is now a member of Rotary Washington and she has been working with our own member Phil Hopps to see the project through. Both Rotary Washington Forge and Rotary Washington made contributions to support the appeal along with local businesses, groups and individuals resulting in the required funds being raised in little more than one week!

Thanks go to Lee and J.W. Fazey Electrical Contractors for installing the cabinet.

This potentially life-saving equipment is now available to the local community and to visitors to this popular village green area. #teamwork #PeopleOfAction WEL Medical Limited
