Chelwood Bridge Online Charity Auction

Over the past 12 months lockdown has had a massive effect on funding for local charities. Therefore the Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club decided to help by organising an on-line silent auction. This ran for 3 weeks from 1st March and had over 80 lots.

The auction included holidays, pleasure flights, meals, wine and experience days. It attracted a lot of interest, with the bidding being frantic at times, particularly in the closing hours. In the end we raised over £5,000.

The Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who very generously donated items for the auction. Particularly local businesses, Chew Kitchen, Debbie Fortune, David James & Partners, Joanna Tiley and Winford Ford.

Rotarian Rob Taylor said “During the past year we have been fund raising in innovative ways. These included a virtual dog show, quiz and crowd funding. The latest virtual event being the silent auction. This has been an enormous success. It was supported by many people far and wide. The funds raised will enable us to help Children’s Hospice South West, St Peters Hospice, Designability (Wizzybugs) and other charities that our Club supports.”
