Normanton Rotary win Conexus Healthcare Award, having been nominated by King's Medical Practice Vaccination Hub

Normanton Rotary

Wakefield District General Practice Heroes Awards

In February this year the subject awards scheme was launched by Conexus Healthcare, the federation of 35 GP practices across the Wakefield and Pontefract area which serves more than 370,000 people.

Members of the Rotary Club of Normanton have been assisting the staff of the King’s Medical Practice Vaccination Hub in Normanton, by the marshalling of their patients who were attending the premises to receive their Anti-Covid vaccinations.

The Rotarians, now assisted by other volunteers, are continuing to help at all these events which started with the King’s Medical Practice’s first anti-Covid mass vaccination event, held on the 22nd December 2020. There has been 24 of these events up to this moment in time.

Unbeknown to the Rotary Club, the staff of the vaccination hub nominated the Rotary Club of Normanton for a “Heroes” award and we are very pleased to acknowledge receipt of the framed certificate from Conexus Healthcare, along with a generous gift food hamper, which was formally presented to our president Peter Boulton by Dr. Jacinta Marie Walsh, a senior partner in the King’s Medical Practice.

Finally came the fantastic news that we were one of 12 winners of the Conexus Healthcare Heroes award.
