·        With the Environment now a seventh Area of Focus Aireborough Rotary has joined Rawdon and Yeadon Litter Pickers in their community project concentrating on a local beauty spot called the Billing. Committee chair Alyson Wort led by example. Spring also restarted the monthly rota for Friends of Guiseley Cemetery on gardening tasks. In a family affair Rotarians, wives and an eager grandchild added their weight to the volunteer team.

·        Eight Rotarians, five wives and three Friends of Rotary took part in the fortnight’s rota to provide lunches for 23 school pupils during the Happy Holidays Activity programme organised by the Guiseley Community Fund. When in school these children would normally receive free school meals. This will be repeated for other school holidays this year.

·        President Raj Mani with sister Club Madras Chenna Patna has launched an urgent appeal to buy oxygen concentrators to be used in Chennai hospitals. In its first two weeks the appeal has doubled the original target of £5000 and five 10 litre concentrators treating two patients at a time have already been sourced and purchased locally. The Club is immensely grateful to District Officers, Clubs and individuals who have made this impressive result possible.

·        Aireborough Rotary has taken advantage of a Public Image District grant to buy a gazebo complete with Rotary logo and the Aireborough Rotary name. This will be used for outside events publicising the Club’s activities to prospective members and raising funds.
