On Thursday 20th May the club held its 33rd annual golf AM-AM at Hessle Golf and the thirty-one teams taking part reported the course to be in excellent condition despite completing their rounds of golf in torrential rain.

"Early indications are that the event has raised over £7,000 for the charities which is a great testament to the goodwill and generosity of all those companies and individuals who have supported the event and to whom we are extremely grateful” advised Elizabeth Harland, President of Howden Rotary Club “we would also like to thank The Hessle Golf Club, and everyone who assisted in any way in making the day so successful.”

“The charities that will benefit from today are St Paul's Boxing Academy, Goole Boxing Academy, Wellington-St Matthew's Scouts, Howden St Peter's Scouts, Howden AFC Girls & Boys Youth Teams and other Local Charities” added Elizabeth.

The team from Lexus Hull comprising Messer’s A Barnes, M Foster, P Simms and N Stabler, won the competition and will receive the Jubilee Cup the Runners up were the Horncastle Group with the team named “Gentlemen Retired” in third place.
