Robocats for Dementia Sufferers
These are realistic looking robotic cats that respond when being handled by people . We provided some for local care homes.
The photo is of Derek who was the first recipient of a Lamplighters’ robocat. He and another dementia sufferer are singing to the cat at the Dementia Café in Heaton Moor. His wife, Lyn, who cares for Derek at home, says it helps to calm him when he gets anxious or agitated. We raised have raised £800 for the purchse of 8 Robocats.
