The
first, early evening meeting of Oswestry Rotary Club, following the
change from mid day meetings since it was formed, took place on the 4th
April at the Wynnstay Hotel.
The first speaker was our newest member,
Duncan Barrowman , who made his debut with an interesting account of the
highlights of his progress through life and the first six years
of his choice, aided with the help of his wife, to become the new
Publican at The Bailey Head Pub.
Duncan told us
of the great variety of his many business involvements ranging from
Engineering, assisting Paddy Ashdown with that Leader's Parliamentary
activities through to Duncan's detailed knowledge of the Brewing trade,
including the many different Beers available and his wide connections
with many Brewers of beer throughout the country.
In addition, Duncan
mentioned the success of his operations, illustrated by the winning of
several competitions within his trade activities.
Many questions were asked after the conclusion of his talk, reflecting the considerable interest shown by the gathering in Duncan's presentation.
