WORLD'S GREATEST MEAL LUNCH - Raising funds for the End Polio Now Campaign

Tue, Nov 8th 2022 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Guest Speaker Malcolm Wells, MBE, PHF "So Far So Good"

It's been a while – but our popular World's Greatest Meal lunch is now back!

The event will be held on Tuesday 08 November 2022, 12:30 for 13:00, at the Masonic Halls, Oakfield Road, Croydon.

Our guest speaker, Malcolm Wells MBE, will be giving a fast moving, informative and entertaining talk about his time at Canine Partners and how to teach a dog to use a washing machine; his 24 years in the army as a musician playing cello on state occasions at Buckingham Palace and the time he played the wrong National Anthem; his time as a medical assistant in the first Gulf War; and finally the ‘behind the scenes’ experience of receiving the MBE and being mistaken for a member of the Royal Household.

The cost for lunch is £25 per head and full details may be found HERE

Bookings are required by Wednesday 02 November, although we can accept final numbers on Sunday 06 November latest.

This year Polio cases have increased from 2 in 2021 to 27Although further cases in Malawi have not been reported since 2020, there are 6 new cases in Mozambique, and Pakistan is reporting 19 new cases. In recent months the virus has been found in both London and New York, so nowhere is safe. Alarmingly for the UK, it is reported that fewer and fewer children in the UK are receiving their normal vaccinations in their early years.

So our fundraising efforts remain vital if we are to eradicate Polio.
