How to Donate?

This page will provide solutions as to how you can donate to help the Ukrainians.

Should we be sending goods or funds?

  1. The feedback from Rotarians in the front-line countries continues to be for us to send them financial donations rather than sending goods.

How can Clubs in District 1070 donate to the Ukraine Disaster?

We have a dedicated webpage setting out the different ways that Clubs can donate. This includes:

  • Links to Rotary Foundation with ways in which individual clubs can react, and leverage grant funding. Full details can be accessed here.
  • Clubs can make direct contributions to a Polish club Rotary Club Zamość Ordynacki which is coordinating collections on behalf of Dist 2231 (all of Poland) which is welcoming and caring for Ukrainian refugees arriving over the border.
  • For clubs which would prefer to donate to an account in this country we have redesignated one of our Foundation accounts and are ready to receive any donations from clubs or individuals. Donations will be forwarded as and when a reasonable balance builds up.

How will our donations to Rotary Foundation be used?

  • All Donations are combined into one fund and made available through Rotary Disaster Response Grants ultimately supported by 'The Rotary Foundation'; they cannot normally be directed to a specific disaster. However, Disaster Response fund contributions received by April 30, 2022 will be prioritized for Ukrainian relief efforts.

How do we record donations?

  • Please record your donation via this online form

What are Rotary GB&I Ukraine Crisis Taskforce doing and how can you support them?

For full details of the different initiatives being supported see the latest taskforce bulletin of 1st April 2022. This includes details on how to support:

  • The International Fellowship of Healthcare Professionals
  • Inter County Committees (ICC) working within Ukraine and neighbouring countries to coordinate and support refugees
  • The Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Grants for Ukraine
  • Water survival box
  • ShelterBox
  • Refugees - Resilience Team Ukraine Taskforce

How can I showcase what my Club is doing to support the Ukraine Crisis?

It is important to share and learn from the support that Clubs in District 1070 are providing to the Ukraine Crisis. Please let us know what you are doing so that others can learn from the different initiatives. Get in touch via the website or email and let us know:

  • What are you doing/ have done? For example, donations, goods, service time
  • Let us know if you are happy for your great work to be publicised - we are happy to keep work anonymous but would like to include statistics (money amount and time) to promote the good work of the District
  • Also log your work with the RGB&I Ukraine Crisis Taskforce

What about non rotary schemes?

This Rotary GB&I Taskforce encourages you all to consider supporting Rotary initiatives rather than donating to third party organisations. If for any reason you are looking to donate outside of rotary other national appeals include the British Red Cross Ukraine crisis appeal, the Disasters Emergency Committee and Reset.
