Race Night
On Saturday 9th April, Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club ran a charity Race Night at Stanton Drew Parish Hall in aid of “Make a Wish” and other charities supported by the Club. A total of 62 people attended the evening where 8 races were run via DVD allowing members of the audience to both bid to own horses and bet on the races. Midway through the evening a ploughman’s supper was served and enjoyed by all attending. Plenty of cash changed hands both on the races and across the bar resulting in a net profit for the charities of just under £1500. It was good to see people getting back to some form of normality enjoying a social occasion. Look out for details of the next fundraiser by Chelwood Rotary.
