Visit to new City Hall

Some members and wives met up to have a conducted tour by the Lady Mayor and her Consort, of the new City Hall building in the centre of the city. She was very enthusiastic and will be a good leader during her year in office.
The Mayor was very generous with her time. She pointed out the features on the ground floor, including the cafe, which is open to all, and the computers for use by anyone who wishes.
We then moved to the council chamber, which is light and airy, with all the modern technology that one would expect. It can also be converted for other group bookings as required.
The Mayor's parlour is on the top floor, enjoying views across the city, including of the river to the sea. Whilst there we were provided with refreshments and the opportunity for further chat.
