Rotaract Donation to School for Abandoned Girls in India

Mon, Jul 4th 2022 at 10:00 am - 10:30 am

Rotaract donated £500 to Rotaract Past President Keertna to buy desks for the School in India.

Keertna returned to St Andrews for a wedding, so money, mainly raised almost 3 years ago by Lyndsey Sutherland, could be handed over to Keertna to buy new desks for the school.  These desks will update the original desks purchased on a donation from John Black, which after 6 years of hard use are less than adequate.  Lyndsey was an intern at the school in 2018, and raised over £400 performing in a gig in her home town near Inverness.

Keertna's grandfather was a Rotary District Governor and was instrumental in founding the School.  Since he died of Covid 2 years ago, Keertna has vowed to continue to support the School in his memory.
