Walk a Mile for Polio

For over thirty years, Rotary has been working hard to rid the world of polio - a terrible disease that can kill or severely disable children. Rotary has helped to immunise 2.5 billion children since 1985 and as a result, polio cases across the world have reduced by 99.9% since 1998. The immunisation campaign must continue until polio is eradicated completely. It costs just 20p to immunise a child, and with the 2 to 1 donation matching scheme from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation continues to help raise the funding for the immunisation to continue.
This video provides some information on the disease polio and how it spreads in the environment.
