Viv Hendra - Discoveries in Art and Life : an illustrated memorial lecture by Lawrence Hendra

The Viv Hendra lecture
The Viv Hendra lecture

From an early age Lawrence Hendra was fascinated by art through contact with his uncle Viv. That fascination has developed into a successful career and he now appears regularly on the Antiques Roadshow as one of the art experts. He is the manager of the Philip Mould (from TV's Fake or Fortune?) Gallery.

Lawrence writes

"Viv was a fastidious collector of paintings and stories which enriched his life and those around him. This lecture will reveal his greatest art historical discoveries whilst also shedding light on the bizarre and unexpected twists which he encountered along the way.

"Viv was a modest man, so many of these intriguing episodes are unknown to even his closest friends. Who knew, for example, that he was the personal art adviser to one of Britain's most famous politicians? And that he once bid on a rare copy of the American Declaration of Independence?

"The lecture will celebrate Viv against the backdrop of his art and life and will raise a glass and eyebrows along the way."

Proceeds from the evening will go to Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK
