25NOV22: Monmouth Rotary & Friends of the Lower Wye (19:00)

The River Wye – Seeking Solutions
A symposium in Agincourt room, Bridge Community Centre

Rotary Monmouth in association with the Friends of the Lower Wye are hosting a symposium to address solutions to the problems with the health of the River Wye that has, for example, seen the annual salmon catch decline from over 5000 to less than 600 in twenty years.

It is widely accepted that a leading cause of problems in the Wye is excessive phosphate from both sewer outfall and run off from agricultural land. Solutions to this issue therefore provide the focus for the evening.

Experts from the Environment Agency, the farming industry and Welsh Water will offer their perspectives on the solutions currently available and the costs and time frames for their deployment.

Doors open at 6:30 for a 7:00pm start - Spaces are limited
