The bucket collection raised a wonderful £328.59 which was topped up by a generous donation from a local business to a total sum of £500!

Bucket Collection at Morrison's Saturday 25th March 2023 for The Harbour, Oswestry

Members of Oswestry Rotary Club will be raising money for The Harbour, a new veterans’ supported living scheme, with a bucket collection at Morrison's supermarket on the morning of Saturday 25th March.

The Harbour project Director and former Royal Marine Commando Ash Anderson is working to provide a much needed (and in demand) service for these vulnerable adults in Oswestry's former Hope Church.

"Things are moving along a bit slower than we'd hoped and we're looking at mid 2024 now for the first Vets moving in." said Ash.

Collection organiser Mike Jones has targeted kitting out one of the new rooms at The Harbour by Oswestry Rotary Club.

"I am delighted that at our previous well supported collection in October last year, we felt the support of the people of Oswestry for this cause." said Mike.

"One lady made a generous donation because her brother was a paratrooper and she also wanted to volunteer to help."

"We hope that Morrison's shoppers will recognise this tremendous cause with their support for our collection!"
