Junior Schools Quiz 2023

Tuesday 28th March: Noremarsh Junior School win our junior quiz

This year our annual Rotary Junior Schools Quiz was held at the Memorial Hall in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Six teams from local primary schools pitted their knowledge against each other for 10 rounds each of 10 questions on subjects ranging from History and Science through to Sport and Entertainment. Each team were given a Joker to tactically play on one pre-selected round of their choice which doubled their score on that round.

All of the teams were fully engaged in answering the questions delivered once again by our quizmaster Allison. The competiveness and good spirit shown by all teams was impressive. After the 10th round the scores were very close across all teams with two teams tied in first place necessitating the need for a tie breaker round.

Following the tie breaker round Noremarsh Junior School emerged victorious beating closest rivals Broad Hinton by only 1 point.

Rotary Club president Linda presented each winner with a book token for £20 and each runner up with a £10 book token. The Noremarsh team also win the coveted trophy for their school. In due course all team members will receive a certificate for taking part.

President Linda thanked the organising team, schools and the audience for supporting the event from which it was clearly evident that all enjoyed it. The participating schools were Noremarsh, Broad Town, Broad Hinton, Longleaze, St Bartholomew's and St Mary’s.

As well as presenting the prizes to the winners, Rotary Club president Linda talked about the wider Rotary organisation and it's activities locally, nationally and worldwide.

We look forward to another quiz in the Spring of 2024
