Seven young chefs arrived at the college in Cardiff and Vale City Centre Campus to battle it out in the kitchen for the Southern Wales and Southwest England final of Young Chef organised by RC Cardiff Bay. These chefs had travelled from as far away as Falmouth and Worcester with family and teachers in supporting roles. 

All the food produced was of the highest standard and the judging proved to be, for all three of them, an arduous task.

Poppy Mackay was the winner, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Burnham-on-Sea and the two runners up –  Ruby Davies and Ruby Paton sponsored by Rotary Club of Llandeilo and the Rotary Club of Abergavenny respectively, both from our District!

We thank the college for their wonderful welcome and accommodating us so well, the judges, John Crockett, Chris Duffy and Paul Mickelburgh and the facilitators Rachel Bartlett and Chris Duffy.
