Monday June 12th  Pick up New Zealanders at Chester Station from train arriving from Manchester at 11.01. (New Zealanders train from Manchester Victoria Station at 10.06).

If there is a rail/train strike on this day Dave Griggs has a Plan B.

Coffee and cake (Venue tb arranged).

Visit to Froncysyllte Aqueduct. About an hour. Opportunity to walk across Aqueduct. Café and parking next to Trevor basin by old chapel which is now a café.

Then to hosts home. Unpack. Relax.

19.00 – Western Pools for fish and chip supper. £11.95 per person. The Rotary Club of Oswestry Lunchtime meeting is now transferred to and evening meeting and both Cambrian and Oswestry Rotary Clubs, members, families and friends are invited.

Tuesday June 13th Morning trip to Chirk Castle grounds and gardens. Coffee and cake in Tea Rooms.

Afternoon trip to Llangollen town. Perhaps a visit to the house of The Ladies of Llangollen or a walk up to Castell DinasBran. Maybe a meal at The Mill in Llangollen (TBA)

 

Wednesday June 14th.  Morning Trip to Walford College Baschurch site.

Hosts to arrange a visit requested by New Zealanders Lazy relaxing time…. Maybe all together or maybe in hosts groups of two.

Evening a ‘Bring A Plate’ picnic at Gatacre Pavillion and walk to Oswestry Olde Hill Fort. Cambrian and Oswestry Rotary Clubs are all invited.

Thursday June 15th

Hand over of New Zealand guests to next phase of Exchange at Grosvenor Garden Centre, Chester, where parking is easy and we can all have yet another coffee and cake in the café.

 

Notes:- All Rotarians and/or their partners can participate in any of these above events but they do need their own transport.

Jo. We need Oswestry Rotary Club pennants/flags to present to the New Zealanders on June 12 evening.

Cath:- Does your club have pennants? Oswestry have agreed to pay the half for Pavilion Hire. As there are 16 of us we will need to book The Mill, Llangollen???
