Murder Mystery evening at Leintwardine Community Centre

Fri, Nov 24th 2023 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

We enjoyed this event with script written by our very own Dorothy Scott. This evening included light refreshments and a bar. The cost was £10 with profits going to our charitable efforts in the community.

This was a very enjoyable and well supported event. Our very own Dorothy Scott wrote the script and the characters were:

Fairy godfather (Marlon) played by Kim Smith, Private Dick Whittington played by Sheila Smith, Prince Ever So Charming played by playwright Dorothy Scott, Old King Cole played by Norman Thorp, Merlin played by Brian Price and Snow White played by President Angela Ellis. The narrator was Emlyn Williams.

The script had an assortment of nursery rhyme references as well as a pantomine feel. But we had to work out who killed Sleeping Beauty and it was a convoluted tale of betrayal and underhand dealings. We won't give the game away but Detective Dick Whittington had a challenge on his (her) hands to find the murderer, as did we!

At the interval there were light refreshments including sausage rolls, quiche and sausages on a stick, as well as an assortment of cakes. There was also a raffle where the first prize was a beautifully decorated Christmas cake, made by our President Angela.

We were delighted to make over £500 which will go in our charity account to be distributed to the many charities we support. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making this a very enjoyable and profitable event!
