Rotary at the Wilderness Foundation

A contingent of members from Wickford joined other Rotarians from around the Conty to help at The Wilderness Foundation

Wickford is part of a Rotary District, including 56 other Clubs in the Essex and East Herts area, and last year the District invited the Wilderness Foundation to become a Corporate Member of Rotary.

The Wilderness Foundation is a local charity provides education and therapy programmes to help children, teens and adults reconnect to society and themselves through outdoor facilitation adventures, nature based therapy and mentoring, based at their Wilderness venue at Chatham Green just outside Chelmsford.

Rotarians from all over the District are helping the Wilderness Foundation in all sorts of ways to help young people and adults to reconnect with nature insodoing supporting the environment as well. One of the ways in which they help is to visit the Foundation and assist with environmental projects around the site.

A contingent from Wickford joined a working party recently and helped in the building of a stg beetle hotel, provising a natural habitat for insects of all shaoes and sizes to thrive, and to provide an educational activity for young people to enagage with the wild.
