End Polio

Many events take place to help Rotary International to rid the world of Polio. The latest project that RCoDD took a part was the District Ride to end Polio. This page will explain.

The event is a Motorbike Ride by 5 Rotarians around District 1070.

District 1070 covers the area between Brackley in the south-west to Skegness on the East Coast of Lincolnshire and takes in Leicester, Peterborough and Lincoln.

There are in excess of 80 clubs in this area with approaching 2000 members.

Today, 28th April 2024, was the first of a 4 day ride to highlight the effort Rotary put into ridding the world of this deadly desease.

The following photos show the riders visiting the Mercure Hotel in Daventry as their first stop on this 4 day ride to cover the largest District in these Islands.

On the photo below Mike Norman a Danetre Daventry member is the good looking one on the front left in the photo below.

The photo below is of Alex Cooke of the Towcester Rotary Club.

And then it is a goodbye to the team as they set off to their next destination.
