Hello all
I am delighted to say that Rotarians from around our area (Ramsey, St. Ives, Huntingdon, St Neots, and Kimbolton will be stepping out in support of the BBC's annual Children in Need appeal 2024.
Please consider taking part by either walking or sponsoring our efforts.
For those wishing to join us, please be ready to start the walk at 10.00 am on Friday 15th November (Children in Need Day). The path around Grafham Water is reported to be 9 miles so at an average pace of 3 miles per hour will take 3 hours + breaks, and may be longer if slower. Please therefore prepare to take drinks and snacks with you to keep you going as well as warm waterproof clothing and suitable walking shoes. I suggest we walk around anticlockwise so we can stop at the second car park before starting the final leg across the dam“tea stops” at regular public parking points if you think this would be helpful and fo. Our Health and Safety Officer is preparing a risk assessment and I will be carrying it with me on the day. I will also be contacting Anglian Water as soon as I have a better idea of numbers to make them aware of our plans as a matter of courtesy. I have purchased a few badges and headbands in advance and am happy to order more if required. Alternatively, please feel free to browse the online Children in Need catalogue https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/fundraising/shop/
Thank you in advance for your interest in this event, whether participating or not. I look forward to the company of fellow Rotarians and the opportunity to raise much needed funding for this worthy cause.
