Cancer Care North Lancashire & South Cumbria

The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 27^th January was Lisa Oliver-Hannis from Cancer Care North Lancashire & South Cumbria who gave the members an overview of the work of the charity. As an independent charity it is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer and bereavement. They ensure that local people coping with cancer or grief will always have somewhere to turn. Their Mission - Providing therapies, help and support free to people of all ages affected by cancer throughout North Lancashire & South Cumbria. Their Vision is to give people the strength to step forward. Their Aims and objectives are:

• To improve the wellbeing of local people of all ages affected by cancer and bereavement.
• To raise community awareness of CancerCare’s therapy services and strengthen established links with key local health & wellbeing organisations.
• To provide flexible services to meet the needs of local communities and to use our resources wisely.
