Young Photographer of Mann Competition Terms and Conditions
1. You must live on the Isle of Man and are aged between 11 and 18 on the closing date.
2. Cameras or mobile devices and manipulations may be used. Photos must be provided in uncompressed jpg format and should be at least 1mb in size. Photos that cannot provide a suitable resolution for publication in landscape format in an A4 sized calendar may not be selected.
3. Please include preferred contact details (email or mobile phone) along with a brief description and location of the subject and camera used. PLEASE NOTE - whilst you can upload photos from an @online.sch.im address, the organisers cannot respond to this, so an alternative contact email/telephone must be included in the photo description.
4. You may only submit photographs that are your original work and for which you have publication rights. The copyright remains with the entrant, but the Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann reserve the right to use all short-listed images for any purpose (including but not limited to publication in a calendar) at no charge.
5. Short-listed entrants will be required to provide written (or email) permission from their parent, guardian, or care person for those photographs to be included.
6. Judges will consider technical merit, content and composition, imagination and style. The judges’ decision is final. Only short-listed candidates will be notified of the outcome. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into following the competition except at the sole discretion of the organisers.
7. Prizes: The top twelve photos will be awarded £50. The overall winning photo will feature on the front cover and be awarded an additional £200 (£250 in total).
8. The organisers intend (but are not obligated) to publish a landscape A4 calendar (one entry per page) featuring the twelve winning photos, with the overall winner also featuring on the front cover. It is hoped also to mount an exhibition of short-listed photographs at a suitable venue on the Island and fine copy prints may be offered for sale.
9. All net proceeds from sale of calendars or prints will go to Rotary-supported charities.
10. If appropriate the organisers may digitally modify winning entries to make them suitable for A4 printing.
The competition is run by the Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann (a charity registered on the Isle of Man, Company number 083973C ; Charity number 700)
