The Kew Fashion Show was a great success. Our thanks to all those who supported it!

On Wednesday 14th May 2025, Mary’s Living & Giving Shop in Kew for Save the Children and the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens hosted the Kew community for a celebration of circular and sustainable fashion to raise money for Save the Children and the Rotary Club.

Over 130 guests attended the fashion extravaganza at St Luke’s Church in Kew for the shop’s first ever fashion show which included showcasing a selection of pre-loved garments donated to Mary’s Living & Giving Kew.

Locals from the community took to the runway with outfits styled in a host of themes, which included upcycled tartan and tweed for ‘Highlands & Islands’, ‘Clothes that Work at Work’, ‘Colour Blocking’, ‘Salute to Summer’. ‘Festival Funk’ and ‘Tulle & Tuxedo’. The styles demonstrated the breadth of second-hand clothing available at the store.

Kew independent retailers, Mia Wood and Canopy provided a host of accessories from dazzling animal-themed brooches to summer essentials including Panama hats and raffia bags.

Hair and make-up was kindly donated by locals too. Ben Forrest and his team created elegant and distinctive hair, whilst Bibi Bellhouse brought her stunning make-up artistry to the show. Delicious food treats were provided by Torelli’s Cafe in Kew and the Kew Rotart Club ran the  well-stocked bar. Halletts Estate Agents also supported the event.

After the catwalk show guests were able to shop looks from the runway, raising further funds. All proceeds will go towards helping children across the UK and globe have a healthy, happy and safe childhood.

Lisa McGovern, manager of Mary’s Living & Giving Shop in Kew says: “Richard Mason from Kew Rotary and I have been thrilled by the response to this event. Everybody in Kew has been so supportive of the initiative and happy to volunteer in whatever way they could. To amass a team of over forty volunteers is testament to the strength of community spirit in Kew.We hope the fashion show raises both funds, and awareness for our respective charities and proves that circular fashion can be a force for good.”

To date, the fashion show has raised £3000 for Save the Children’s Emergency Fund.
