Helen Howe

The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 24th March was Helen Howe from ‘The Friends of the Lake District, who gave the club a presentation highlighting the work of the charity and its impact on the area. They work to sustain the rich, diverse, living pattern of landscape, wildlife and culture that makes Cumbria and the Lake District unique. Their aim is to have a ‘Thriving Cumbrian Landscape for Nature, for People, for Ever’. Their purpose states that they are an independent charity, and the only membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing Cumbria's landscapes. They take action to protect and enhance the natural beauty of these landscapes for the benefit of local communities, visitors, wildlife and habitats.
