Adventurers Rotary fund raiser for Manorlands Hospice and Ukraine

organised by the Rotary Club of Adventurers specifically to raise money for Manorlands Hospice and Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid.

The roof almost lifted off Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club on Saturday with the swing jazz of SJB (Scruton Jazz and Blues) and a sell-out audience, who joined in with well-known numbers including Minnie the Moocher.

The event had been organised by the Rotary Club of Adventurers specifically to raise money for Manorlands Hospice and Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid.

As well as expert palliative care, Manorlands supports people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. They work across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford.

Huddersfield to Ukraine have been supporting the people of Ukraine, collecting and delivering humanitarian aid to towns and cities all over the country since 1922, in huge juggernauts, ensuring that every single thing donated reaches its intended destination.

Susan Rogers, the main organiser said “We were delighted not only to raise £1500 (£750 for each charity) but to give everyone a great evening out with an amazing array of raffle prizes, lovely food and foot tapping music.” It was Susan’s band that travelled down from Bedale in a minibus to provide the entertainment for free and she joked that it was the first time they’d been “on tour”.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers involved in the fundraiser, to the staff of the rugby club for looking after us and the following companies who donated raffle prizes: Midland Hotel, Bradford; J I Estates; Eureka Halifax; Winnie Dot Lingerie; St Andrews Motor Company; Richard Arrundel butcher; Secret Bakery in Harrogate; Bernadette Stanton holistic therapies; Malt Shovel, Harden
