Wickford Helps Spotlight get to its target!

After a busy Christmas period while we were supporting Santa on his visits to Wickford we are pleased to announce that with your support £6005 was raised which went towards the Spotlight Radiotherapy appeal at Southend Hospital (spotlightappeal.org). This appeal initially aimed to raise £600,000 to pay for specialist equipment to improve the delivery of radiotherapy treatment to the people of the District, and so for the second year running you have helped raise over 1% of the target each year. Well done you! 

However, it didn't end there! We were excited to have received further funds which we were able to put towards the appeal as a result of Sainsbury's in Basildon declaring us their Charity of the Year 2024, and as a result we were able to increase the amount we could donate to Spotlight. As a result we were able to donate a fantastic £7077 to the Spotlight appeal. Thank you Sainsbury's! 

Kayley Donovan from  Spotlight was able to visit us recently to tell us more about the project, how it changes the lives of cancer sufferers and how they have exceeded their target of £600,000 as a result of their fundraising efforts. This has accelerated the implementation of the equipment they were installing, and the extra funds are going towards improving the facilities at Southend Hospital for all cancer sufferers, including better treatment suites. We were pleased to be able to present the cheque to her at her recent visit.
