Project to Build a New Dental Vision Clinic at Bwindi Community Hospital in Uganda

We are now supporting the construction of a £390,000 new Dental Vision Clinic at the Bwindi Community Hospital to replace existing clinic facilities which are located in a converted shipping container.

It’s an ambitious project but it’s one that will bring smiles and a brighter future to the lives of thousands.

We are  working with the USA based Kellermann Foundation and UK Charity REACHBwindi to fund the construction of a new 17,000ft2 Dental-Vision Clinic at the Bwindi Community Hospital in South West Uganda.

The new building will house and / or facilitate :

  • sustainable dental and eyecare services, in a region void of such services;
  • two Dental Officers and two Ophthalmic Clinical Officers;
  • a dedicated Operating Theatre to provide cataract surgery/sight-saving procedures (currently patients have to travel over 4 hours for surgery elsewhere in Uganda);
  • a Training Program for Dental Officers to be introduced;
  • educational lectures to healthcare students, professionals and public;
  • ophthalmology training and equipment grants to be accessed.
