The Rotary motto is Service above Self

In our Club we have a very enthusiastic and dedicated team of members who enjoy helping others and having fun along the way.

The Club is proud of its support for local, national and international charities.  In the Rotary year 2022-2023 over £13000 was donated to good causes.  The following charities benefited from our donations: Guide Dogs for the Blind, Shelterbox (following the earthquakes in Turkey and the disastrous flooding in Pakistan,) the Royal British Legion, Kids out, Baby Basics, Little Discovers, King’s Lynn Night Shelter, King’s Lynn Food Bank, West Norfolk Carers, East Anglia Children’s Hospice, East Anglian Air Ambulance, King’s Lynn Samaritans, Hunstanton RNLI, Bridge for Heroes, the Hope Foundation in Kolkata, the Norfolk Hospice, and Festival Too. In addition several individual students benefited: for example two who attended the World Scout Jamboree; a grant was made to a medical student to help fund his elective study; and a new specialist wheelchair was provided for a young lady - in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs and the King’s Lynn Municipal Charities.

The Club held its annual Christmas Party for Young Carers and gave Christmas parcels to a number of older people in need.  In addition some 300 Illustrated Dictionaries were provided for Year 5 children in local primary schools, part of an annual programme supported by the three Rotary Clubs in King’s Lynn.  Members of the Club’s Vocational Committee organised three Rotary competitions for pupils in secondary schools: Youth Speaks; Young Musician; and Young Writer.  In addition prizes for Community Service were provided for sixth formers at both King Edward VII Academy and Springwood High School.  We believe in supporting our community in many different ways.
