VIRTUAL DUCK RACE - BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP SOUGHT

Sponsorship will help to fund prizes and set-up costs and allow us to donate more of the money raised to worthy causes.
Click on ‘Details’ for further information.

We are approaching local businesses to see whether any would be able to sponsor our virtual Duck Race fundraising event to be held 1-4 August 2024.  Ducks will be going on sale at the beginning of June.

As Rotary, we aim to support the local community, as well as international projects, and launched our Pitch4Pounds initiative this year where we invest money into worthy local community groups and charities.  These groups can apply for funding and are invited to attend a Rotary meeting to pitch for money to help with  projects etc.  Money raised through our community events such as the annual Christmas collections, the Virtual Duck Race 2024 and ‘Dance! Dance! Dance!’ - a music night planned for 14 September, help to fund our P4P initiative as well as other charities and worthy causes including St Catherine’s Hospice, Leyland Barracudas and Heartbeat.

The Duck Race is being supported by Emma Kenny (TV psychologist, broadcaster and presenter) who will be publicising it on her social media.  She was born in Bury and still lives there. Her father committed suicide a couple of years ago so we are also supporting a mental health charity for this event, yet to be decided.

Her support means that the duck race will not just be a local event and will gain a lot of publicity nationally.

Your sponsorship, which will help to fund prizes and set-up costs, will allow us to donate more of the money raised to worthy causes.  We are hoping to have five prizes including cash/vouchers.

We would publicise your involvement on our website, Emma Kenny’s social media and in our promotional material.

You probably receive many requests for support.  Hopefully you will be aware of Rotary and all the excellent work it does by supporting people locally, nationally and globally.

We do hope that we can partner with you for our Virtual Duck Race 2024.
