Peter and Gary gave an informative talk on the former Jubilee Colliery, and mining in the surrounding area, over the years. They explained some mining practices and showed some equipment used by miners.

Robert gave an interesting talk on Groundwork in Oldham and Rochdale. They are based in Higginshaw and carry out a range of environmental projects including the Prince's Trust Team Programme for 16-18 year olds.

New President David Holt was inducted by Past President Derek Cottrell at the Club lunchtime meeting. Derek commented upon the events of the past year and David thanked Derek for stepping in so successfully as President at the last minute last year.
