25 Members and their partners enjoyed a meal at The Kentish Horse, Mark Beech. . Dress Code was Red and White, to celebrate St George's Day.

Tue 26th March 2024 Speaker Meeting

Kit Kaberry spoke on "Rhino Charging - The Rhino Ark e-Safari". He told members about Rhino Ark's valuable conservation work in Kenya which protects the rhino and other species while also helping local families there.

Sat 16th March 2024 Marie Curie Street Collection - Westerham

Rotary have a strong connection with the Marie Curie organisation, and were pleased to run their street collection in both Edenbridge and Westerham. The Westerham collection raised £225.

Tue 12th March 2024 Business Meeting & Lottery draw

President Elect Peter Smith was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in recognition of his years of Rotary Service. The Lottery Draw was made - 1st Prize going to Peter Smith - what an evening for him! Second Prize John Martin and 3rd to Paul Cottrell.

Rotary have a strong connection with the Marie Curie organisation, and were pleased to run their street collection in both Edenbridge and Westerham.
The Edenbridge collection raised £466.

Club business was discussed and we made the February Lottery draw. Results were:

Fri 2nd February 2024 - Sun 4th February 2024 Visit to Rotary Club of Yvetot in Normandy

We visited our friends at the Rotary Club of Yvetot in Normandy and helped them run their annual schools' English dictation contest "Le Dictee"

The Club discussed a little business and the Special General Meeting confirmed Officers for the coming year. The Lottery draw saw Ray Taylor win the £100 top prize and Tim Roach with the third prize of £15.

No local pub was safe from the E&WRC singers, and we were all made surprisingly welcome. Audience participation was extremely good and the evening raised over £275 for selected Rotary charities.

We enjoyed an in-house celebration of the life and times of Sir Winston Churchill. Rotarian Terry Cartwright told the story of Sir Winston's army career, and there was a toast in the great man's honour.

As this is the end of the Lottery year, there were two further £50 draws and these were won by David Annan and Anita Farrington

This week we had a talk by Andrew Brown from the debt counselling charity Crosslight Advice. Andrew's charity is helping several families in both Edenbridge and Westerham with debt and budgeting advice and we applaud the work he does.

Sat 14th October 2023 E&WRC Annual Town Quiz

Our Annual Town Quiz at Edenbridge WI Hall raised over £1,300 for local charities, which will include The Bridges Centre. Worthy winners were the Rotary Club of Titsey and District.

We welcomed four guests who have shown an interest in becoming a member of Rotary and three have been invited to join. We drew the Lottery: First Prize (£100) Tony Leslie, Second Prize (£35) Gavin Raeburn-Ward and Third Prize (£15) Jim Burbridge.

Tonight we had a talk from Laura Shtaingos from the charity Baby Umbrella . Laura is a professional Counsellor and the charity she co-founded helps new families cope with the stress of having a baby in the house.

A brilliant day! The sun shone and everyone had great fun. Rotary ran the Coconut Shy and raised more than £150 towards the cost of the day.

Our Club ran the beer tent at The Edenbridge Parish Church Michaelmas Fair, as we have done in previous years. The Fair made £1,650 for the Church

DSU Andy Furphy gave a talk on Modern Day Slavery. What an impression it made! It was a real eye-opener.

Tue 11th July 2023 July Business Meeting

The business meeting agreed to make a £300 donation to Rotary Foundation. The Charity Treasurer confirmed that a donation of £162 had been made to Marie Curie funded by retiring member Patrick McCauley. The Lottery draw first prize went to John Martin.
