Our inaugural Fair Opening Party for local special needs youngsters was a great success. After an enjoyable morning sampling rides at Barnstaple Fair over 100 youngsters were treated to a fine spread at the Barnstaple Hotel.

ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF DAY 12th AUGUST 2011
164 golfers from all over the county took part in this year's competition and raised a terrific £4,000 for our chosen local charity - the Chemotherapy Unit Appeal.

The Barnstaple Link Rotary Club annual Christmas Party for the towns senior citizens is now firmly established in the festive calendar and this year saw over 100 arrive at the Barnstaple Hotel for an afternoons tea and entertainment.

It gave all the recipients an excellent chance to appreciate what effort has gone into raising the funds - it takes a lot of 20p items to raise the sums around £300+ that were dished out.

Phil's latest walk on Exmoor was advertised as a 3 to 4 mile level walk starting at Simonsbath. After only 10 minutes of walking we were able to take in a wonderful view from the top of our first hill (about 500ft!).

The "Wholelife Project", run by Martin's daughter (Emma) and son-in-law (Matt), aims to give a bit of a hands-on experience of a smallholding for groups of local young people and adults with learning difficulties.

Barnstaple Link hosted this year's running of the Fellowship Golf Challenge competition at Saunton Golf Club and had to see off several other local Rotary Clubs to retain the trophy.

Well, what a great start to our Rotary Shop! After months of planning it's open at last and it's proved more successful than we imagined. with over £1200 taken in the first two days alone!
