  Cowes Rotary Club was first formed in the 1920's, the Club was closed during the Second World War, and was not restarted until 1965. Now it is a thriving body with Members of both sexes, and has much to offer the community of Cowes. The Club is also twinned with the Rotary Club of La Rochelle in France.

                           Water-Survival Box contentsTRAGIC EVENTS IN PAKISTAN

In response to the Pakistan Flood Appeal, the Rotary Club of Cowes has donated 3 Water-Survival Boxes. These boxes are filled with essential items needed for survival by people who have lost everything.

Rotarians & Hilary from the Co-Op, Cowes who co-sponsored the balloons alongwith NatWest Bank, Cowes. Anita's Florist, East Cowes provided the ballon gas.  COWES WEEK 2010 SAW THE RETURN OF THE BALLOON ROCKET TO THE PARADE 

After a 2 year absence the Rotary Balloon Rocket Launcher was back on The Parade, Cowes and was as popular as ever with children and adults,  launching biodegradable balloons and labels. Final date for receipt of labels is the 30th Sept after which the winning furthest three will be announced.  Current 'leaders' are all from France, Chasnay in the Nievre (316 miles), Bonneval in Eure-et-Loir (215 miles) and Pommeray, Bailleau le Pin (203 miles)

Handover Evening on 25th June A Great Success

 Many Rotarians and Friends came to the Royal London Yacht Club where Immediate Past President Anna-Morgan Crockett welcomed incoming President John Hamar and reflected on the Club's previous year's achievements. Now we start another year of service, fun and helping the community……..

Starting with a typical 'Last Night of the Proms' style concert on the Friday evening at the Cowes Yacht Haven Events Centre, the family weekend continued on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th April at Northwood Park, Cowes, where the sun shone and the crowds came to join in the fun which included amusements, bands, dancers, various stalls, car & motorbike display, etc.

Rotary Club of Cowes Helps Scouts Attend World Jamboree

 In June Club President Anna Morgan-Crockett presented a cheque for £500.00 to the Isle of Wight Scout Council to enable five Scouts from the Cowes and East Cowes area to take part in the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden next year. The Scouts, who have raised funds themselves, are excited about the prospect of meeting other Scouts from all corners of the globe. We wish them well in this fantastic opportunity.
