Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Bridgwater
The Rotary Club of Bridgwater has been in existence since 1934 and is taking positive steps to accommodate members in the 21st Century.
Members meet twice a month; on the first Monday at 6.30pm and on the third Monday, with partners and friends at 7.30pm. All our meetings are held at the Tudor Hotel and Restaurant, St Mary Street, Bridgwater unless otherwise stated.
Membership from both the private and public sectors reflects today's composition of business and enterprise and includes women. Looking to the next generation, members keenly support youth projects; Kids Out, Youth Speaks, Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) and the Young Chef competition.
For well over twenty years the Club has maintained a close relationship with the Rotary Club of Salzgitter-Wolfenbuttel in Lower Saxony, Germany. This hugely successful relationship, cemented by the annual visit, has led to many personal friendships and an appreciation of the respective cultures.
In recent years, through its fundraising activities (including collecting at the famous illuminated Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival), the Club has made significant donations to St Margaret's Somerset Hospice, Children's Hospice South West and Rotary Foundation.
The latter provides funds and expertise to help developing countries, particularly in the provision of essential health care and services. In addition and in response to international disasters, we support the Rotary WorldWaterWorks and Shelterbox charities.
If you have an interest in any aspect of our work, we would love to hear from you. Why not come and join us at one of our open meetings? Please contact us via the website and we'll be in touch as soon as is humanly possible.
