The Rotary Club of Otter Valley
Welcome to our website. We hope you will explore it to see who we are and what we do or have done. The Club currently has 34 members and is situated in the beautiful Otter Valley, Devon, centred on Ottery St. Mary. We meet regularly on Tuesday evenings for a meal followed by a speaker, discussion of business or some other activity.
The Club is a lively one and one is sure to enjoy our meetings. We are very active in our support for Youth, Community and International projects, more details of which will be found under the 'What we do' heading above. In recent years, we have helped local organisations to raise close to £200,000 through the South East Devon Community Raffle and, in addition, large sums of money have been raised for Childrens Hospice SW; Hospiscare; Devon Freewheelers; Help for Heroes; The Royal British Legion and ShelterBox.
The Club has been twinned with the Rotary Club of Dun Laoghaire, Eire since 1995 and we visit each other in alternate years for fun and fellowship. A few of us exchange our homes with visiting Rotarians across the world through the Rotary Home Exchange programme.
Visitors, both Rotarian and Non-Rotarian, are welcome to join us on our Club nights but prior notice to the Secretary, David Roberts, tel. 01404 813961 or, if not available Terry Blackler tel. 01404 823174, is necessary for catering purposes. As a Non-Rotarian you may be tempted to join us in our humanitarian endeavours.
We have an associated Inner Wheel Club for spouses and others which meets on the 1st Monday of the month.
