President 2012-2013

Lorraine Wong

Welcome to the website of The Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge. My name is Lorraine Wong and I am this year's Club President.

Our club is one of many round the world and one of two in Dorchester itself. We are thirty three men and women of varied ages and interests meeting every Tuesday evening over supper in The Kings Arms in Dorchester, click here for map. Our programme is varied and includes such things as listening to interesting speakers on a whole variety of subjects; simply enjoying social evenings; or taking time to plan our activities in and around the town.

Although Rotary is truly an international organisation, our first duty is right here in this town. We are proud to serve the Dorchester community, where we work with young and old and all ages in between, hopefully making lives a bit more fun for them and certainly enjoying ourselves doing so. Many will recognise us from when there is an international disaster and we take to the streets to raise money for relief work. Money raised is used for supplies from Rotary based charities such as Shelterbox and Water Survival Box: but there's a lot more to us than that!

We are always delighted to hear from anyone or any group interested in who we are and what we do. We welcome visitors and guests to our meetings, and are constantly seeking to widen our knowledge and understanding of all who live in our community. So if you don't know us and we don't know you, it's time we both changed that - call in on us at The Kings Arms or via the CONTACT page. We are here to serve - and we enjoy it!
