Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Blaby
Young Writers' Competition, 2013
We are pleased to announce that Lewis Smith from Countesthorpe College is our overall winner and Rachael Nosworthy is the Guthlaxton College winner.
There were 20 entries, students being asked to write a letter on the topic "Peace". They approached the task in many ways and choosing the winners was very difficult, but Lewis's letter really moved us.
Highly commended certificates and prizes will also be presented to Charlotte Sarsby (Guthlaxton College), Jamie Seymour and Danny Lewis (Countesthorpe College)
Easter Bag packing with Inner Wheel at Waitrose - £598.90
A Shelterbox will be bought with the money.
Rotary Club of Blaby
We are a modern day, family orientated Rotary Club, working in the spirit of the ideals and guiding principles of Rotary, achieving the clubs objectives by serving those in need in our local community and further afield.
We are a mixed gender club, we meet at lunchtimes and are representative of many local businesses, professions and jobs. Our membership at 24 allows all members to play an important role within the club.
Non Rotarians are often unsure of the activities of Rotarians as much of the charitable work we carry out in the community goes unsung. The support we give in our own community takes in local schools, hospices, youth groups, local charities, support groups and individuals.
Aware of the constraints on members time, we adopt a somewhat less formal approach to meeting attendances, whilst aiming to fulfil the aims of our club.
