On the 8th November, The Rotary Young Chef 2016 competition was again held at Millom School. The class teacher, Karen Brocklebank, had selected four pupils for this local heat of the national competition. The task was to prepare a two course meal for two people costing no more than £10.

Our judges were Gary McClure, Master Chef attached to McClures Catering Supplies in Windermere, Peter Atkinson, Head Chef at The Tower Restaurant in Millom and Sue Day the proprietrix of the Pavilion Guest House in Millom.

Our winner who goes through to the next round on 9th February 2017 at The Lakes School Windermere, is Emily Martin.

So close were all the marks awarded, that each of the other three; twin sister Sarah Martin, Charlotte Robinson and newcomer Mia Dobson were all declared joint runners up.
