Role of the Community and Vocational Service Committee

The rotary club of Ashtead has three arms that ensure the smooth and efficient running of our club. Community and Vocational Services or CVS as we call it, aims to serve the local and surrounding communities of Ashtead. Our goal is to help charities or individuals or worthy causes in Ashtead, make the life of residents and the community just a little better, by either offering our time, advice or financial donations. CVS believes that a strong community builds a strong society, we try to achieve our aims via many ways, such as

•            Gifting of Dictionaries to all Primary school children

•            Facilitating of youth competitions with the local schools eg Young Writer, Young Artist, Young Photographer

•            Supporting our local youth club as sponsors of their Duke of Edinburgh program

•            Every year selecting young adults to attend RYLA, the Rotary Young Leadership Award, at High Ashurst.

•            Our annual Seniors Christmas Party and Film Show, an opportunity for our seniors to meet and socialise with friends or just have a day out.

•            Financial support of many of Ashtead’s local charities and worthy causes, such as Aldag, Bessom, Seeability, Dyscover, Rianna's Fund and others.

If you would like to learn more about our work in the community or looking for financial support for a charity or worthy cause you are involved in, please do not hesitate in reaching out to the Club.
